Chakra Balancing

A workshop in which you will learn about the energy of each main chakra, as well as various methods and techniques used to bring into balance the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.
By tapping into your own healing powers, you may experience a sense of empowerment, life changing insights, emotional release, physical healing, heightened awareness, spiritual connectedness and/or other positive effects.

In this workshop you will work with the 7 main energy centers of the human body, which are called chakras. Each of these energy centers is connected to each part of the body through energy channels (Nadis). Each Chakra has its own characteristics. Not only are they responsible for receiving and expressing energy but are also storage centers for our life experience and affect physically and mentally. Learn how you can balance the energy of the chakras and how to remove blockages in order to heal them. Leading a series of practical exercises will guide you to get in touch with the energy of each Chakra. Through specific Chakra related postures (Yoga Asanas) you will experience how to activate the energy and will learn how to discover if there are any blockages. Relax the body and calm the busy mind and bring joy to soul. As a result of this, tensions will be released and peace as well as joy will be established. To re-enforce this result, mantras that resonate in a specific way with the chakras will be used. A real experience of the vibration of the chakras will be the result. During mantra meditation, focusing on colour, sound and chanting the workshop will give a wonderful overall experience that allows you to gain health and happiness. Practicing regularly at home afterwards will help you to establish health on a solid basis and will help to increase your energy. People of all ages can enjoy this vibrant celebration of the true love of life.

In the Chakra Balancing Course you will learn…

  What is a Chakra?
  Locating the Chakras
  Functions of the Chakras
  The Chakras and the 7-Year Cycle
  Detailed Information on each Chakra according to Dr. Myss
  Chakra Meditation, Mantras, Yoga and Dancing
  How to Clear and Recharge Chakra’s
  Symptoms of Chakra Balance and Imbalance

Art Therapy Workshop “Grief”

There are things that we don’t want to happen but have to accept, things we don’t want to know but have to learn, and people we can’t live without but have to let go. ~Author Unknown

Each man is like all other men, like some men, like no men…. –  for each of us the grieving process looks different!

What’s the meaning of grieving?

Grieving is an active cognitive and emotional process involving confrontation with all the emotions involved and restructuring of thoughts about the deceased, the loss experience and the changed world within which the bereaved must now live.

What’s the meaning of mourning?

Healing through the process of adaption to death.

What’s Art Therapy? Verbalizing thoughts and feelings can be difficult, especially during stressful life events. Art therapy is based on the belief that the creative process involved in creating art is healing and life-enhancing. No artistic skill is necessary to benefit from art therapy.

Who is it for? Art therapy is used with people of all ages in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and hospice centers.

How does it work? An art therapist will guide you through the creative process in a safe and comfortable atmosphere. The artwork can also be a stepping stone to verbal communication about feelings or events. The simple use of color or line can communicate complex feelings or experiences without words.

How does it help? Art therapy can assist in moving through the grieving process because it allows people to do the following:

  • Get in touch with, accept, and express feelings;
  • Foster positive coping behaviors;
  • Gain insight and understanding;
  • Reduce anxiety and provide emotional release;

Participate in memorial activities that express the significance of the life of the deceased.

Coming Home – Inner Child Workshop

Somewhere deep inside us, there is a little carefree child, a child before it was abused, a child who had a right to a free and happy childhood; a happy, loving, innocent, gentle, inquisitive, outgoing, creative, playful, talented child. This child is still in us. Meanwhile it may be desperate and sad because it has been abused, abandoned, wounded, hurt and scared. Whatever your name is, call your Inner child “little ……”.

Many times we have buried the pain of the past. Many times our inner child is the keeper of secrets and pain. In order to recall lost memory, it is often necessary to get back in touch with the keeper of these secrets, the child who went into hiding as a result of childhood sexual/physical/emotional abuse. This is very empowering and you will feel a tremendous sense of release and peace once you master how to find your inner child and protect and love him or her.

Wheel of Wisdom Workshop – The four directions – The cycle of Life

We all have a personal wheel of energy surrounding each of us. The circle symbolizes the continuity and connection to all living things–and that we are part of–not separate–all of them.

The Wheel is representing the races of man, the seasons, and the stages of life from birth to dying. The circle is the earth, the moon and the planets. It is the circle of life and all creation. The simplicity of the symbol is profound. We humans KNOW four directions. We see forward, but not back, and facing forward we have two sides. Four directions are part of our biology and our psychology. They are archetypes of the highest order. As such they are powerful carriers of symbolic meaning.

THERAPEUTIC EXPERIENCE

Monika been offering Reiki since 1997, working as a Relaxation and Soundbowl Therapist since 2003 and working in the field of Psychotherapy, Counselling and Energy Healing since 2005 in Germany and since moving to Manitoba in 2007. In order to meet the multicultural challenges in Canada Monika has been studying certain courses with the VCC in BC.  She has been working with many individuals one-on-one as well as leading group workshops. Constantly integrating new Energy Healing Techniques and combining them with her Coaching/Counselling techniques she has been developing her own way of short and solution oriented healing called “Do it the BalanCHIng® Way!” She has been applying her knowledge to assist individuals in overcoming barriers and stressors in their lives in numerous face to face sessions, but her passion is the art of creating and leading Self-Growth Workshops (Inner Child Work, Four Directions, Chakra Balancing, Systemic Constellations etc.) and Grief/PTSD Art Therapy Workshops. Her theory is that there are no problems, just solutions. As the client has all resources (s)he needs, the Coach/Counsellor is just guide during the healing process.

Qigong Session

Not everybody is aware that we’re grieving almost every day… Most of us are only talking about grief when a loved one died.

But we’re grieving a loss already when we’re cleaning out our house. We hold a vase in our hands with cracks and scratches. This vase was with us probably for a long time. It was a gift and reminds us of somebody who thought of us on that special day of ours (birthday, anniversary etc.). We took it out on special occasions (family reunion, christmas etc.). Each of the cracks, each of the scratches tell their stories. Now it’s time to say good-bye…

Some people can’t do it and put it back into the cupboard even if they would never use it again because it’s too painful for them to throw it away. Other people put it into the garbage and perhaps unconsciously think: “This vase did a pretty good job staying with me for that long time, but there will be another vase that will tell me a new story and bring me joy watching it filled with wonderful flowers. This time I buy it myself. I’ll be standing in front of the shelves and take a long look at the different colours and shapes. Then I’ll close my eyes and when I open it, the perfect vase will find me. I’ll take it home and thank myself for rewarding myself with such a wonderful gift. When friends come by and admire it, I will tell them that it was ME myself who discovered it and bought it for myself.”

Of course it’s a difference whether you got an object from another person or bought it yourself but can’t it bring the same happiness to you in the end?

There will always be friends who will give you something that reminds you of them. But it’s just material. The memories are everlasting in your heart.

I am convinced that our own special way of grieving develops already in childhood and results from the behavioral, cognitive and psycho-emotional survival patterns we’re creating at that time.

I am also convinced that we always have a choice to change! But that needs the courage to go through a lot of emotional pain AND GRIEF! Because CHANGE  CAUSES LOSS and LOSS CAUSES GRIEF!

A loss is a cause for a reaction. The reaction can be active or passive. You can run away and hide or you can act and express yourself with all your emotions.

The first big loss I experienced was the death of my father. My first reactions to a sudden loss is yelling and crying. My ex-husband couldn’t stand this and numbed me with drugs. I became paralyzed and in my passiveness I let happen and after the funeral couldn’t handle my grief. But I was given drugs to numb my feelings again. It wasn’t till my training in Applied Psychology, NLP, Kinesiology and Systemic Constellation Therapy that I could go through this trauma again, integrate it into my life and in addition CHANGE MY REALITY about losing somebody and grieving that loss.

When my mother died 6 years later I wasn’t passive anymore. I could arrange the funeral, could write a poem and give her a place in my heart. I was yelling again and cursing at a Higher Power “Why are you doing that to me again? How can you do it to me! I hate you, God or whatever name you have!” I was crying a lot but after a while I could find the peace I couldn’t find at first place when my Dad died. And I could go on with life, being a stronger person than before.

Last week I met one of the farmers here. He was sad. He told me he has to put down his cat because its little body is filled with cancer. “I’ll never go through this again,” he told me “I’ll never have a cat again.”

I told him my story. I was born with a love for cats. As a child I tried to hide cats from farmers in my bedroom and was slapped when my mother found them. A little cat has been killed in front of my eyes by a car when I was about 8 years old. I saw her eyes breaking when I took her into my arms and I cried a whole day long. I can’t remember if I’ve ever told it to my mum because I wasn’t supposed to ride my bike that far away from home. I’ve owned my first two cats when I was 18 and met my first husband whose parents always had cats. When I met my second husband I had to give them away because he didn’t like cats. I brought them to a farmer who said she would feed them. But after a while one cat run away and I said to my husband I would leave him if he wouldn’t allow me to take Tammy back home. So I brought her home and managed to hide the mice she brought to me and the birds she killed in the living room because my husband would have hurt her when he would have seen it. After my second divorce, Tammy had a wonderful life with the man who is my partner now for twelve years because he loves cats the same way I do. Tammy got 16 when she developped cancer in her stomach. The vet asked me if she should give her pain killers to prolong her life or if I would agree to put her down. I asked for 15 minutes and was led into a little living room. After 5 minutes holding her in my arms and looking into her eyes I knew that it’s simply not my right to decide about her death, but I deeply felt inside of me that she was asking me to let her die instead of suffering and starving to death. Her fur wasn’t shining anymore, her eyes lifeless and her purring weak. So I said good-bye to her, thanking her for the wonderful time and telling her that she’ll never be forgotten.” I held her in my arms till her heart stopped beating after the infusion.

We got two kitten who were saved from a farm in Austria. They were siblings, Ricky and Sandy. I loved Sandy. She was my first cat with pink toes. She was a black and white female. She was killed by a car not long after we had let her go outside to enjoy a cat’s life, hunting mice and laying lazy in the sun. Ricky was traumatized and I got him a little black female, Sissy, with a white “diamond” on her chest. They’ve never been that close like Ricky was with Sandy had been but they like eachother and accompanied us to Manitoba.

Here I got another cat Lilly. She has the tiger pattern like Ricky but she is liked neither by him nor by Sissy. So I was pleased when Cindy found me, sitting in the middle of the street in Portage La Prairie where our car broke down. She was a multicoloured female cat with pink toes again. We had a special good-morning ritual together and not one day passed by without telling her how beautiful she was. I only had her for one year before she was killed by a coyote.

Do the deaths of three cats prevent me from having another one??? NO, NO and NO again! Because this is life! Life is change! Pain and grief belong to life the same as joy and happiness! Yin and Yang! How could you feel overwhelming happiness without knowing sadness or grieving?

Some people decide to never let cats outside because they could be killed and I’m asking them: “So we perhaps better lock you inside the house too because driving a car could kill, couldn’t it?”

People are asking what advice I can give them on how to cope with unhealthy grief when they can’t afford therapy and I tell them to go to the Anonymous Alcoholics and get familiar with the 12 steps and the serenity prayer because this program can be applied to the grieving process as well. One day at a time…. accept what you can’t change…. etc. etc. etc.

People who can afford it should come to one of my INNER CHILD HEALING WORKSHOPS because with healing your inner child you’re able to change old beliefs, update your picture of the world and replace your outdated realities with more useful ones. This enables you to see death with different eyes and voila, change your way of grieving.

Namaste!

The sun dies every evening and is re-born every morning again!

Some time ago a woman asked me:”Why should I pay for counseling. In Manitoba we have stress lines I can call and there are social workers I can contact for any problems.” I asked back “What are those people doing when you’re asking for help.” and the person told me “They’re listening and giving some advice…” I said “Well, I’m listening too, but I won’t give advice. I’ll let you find your way to deal with an issue, but at the same time I CARE AND I BELIEVE IN YOU!” She looked at me pretty amazedly “What does that mean?” she asked and like always I was telling her a story.

My mom died very fast. Her kidneys failed and when I came to the hospital she was already in a coma because she had signed a piece of paper saying she wouldn’t like to have dialysis. I gave her Reiki and was told that I would be phoned when she would die during the night. Early in the morning the phone rang… My husband prepared to drive me to the hospital and found me sitting at the table exhausted, sad and anxious. He knew that I wasn’t able to see my father again after his death and I told him that I was not sure if I can go there to see the dead body of my mother and cried. “I’m not sure if I can handle that.” I said to him. He took me in his arms and hugged me for a long time, then he looked into my eyes and said “I know that you can handle it.” We drove to the hospital and I petted and kissed my death mother, sending her the healing light of Reiki for her journey into the unknown realm. On our drive home I thought: He believed in me and I was able to do things although I have felt so weak and had no faith into myself.” In the days before the funeral I suddenly felt like writing a poem to honour my mother’s life and I did. My husband praised my creativity and supported me a lot with preparing everything for that sad day approaching fast. We followed the priest who carried the urn. He put it into the grave and said some nice superficial words abouth death and paradise. I didn’t listen, I thought about my mother and my childhood and started crying. I held firm to my poem, looked up to my husband and said “I don’t know if I can read this poem, when I have to cry all time. I think, I can’t handle that.” He squeezed my hand, looked into my eyes and said “I know, that you can handle it.” I started reading and my voice got stronger and stronger and the people who knew my mom thanked me for my words and even wanted a copy of my poem. Again I could have come out of an overwhelming situation that made me feel very weak with the faith my husband had into me.

“That’s my kind of therapy,” I said to her “I’m hugging my clients, I’m challenging and sometimes provoking them to find their own way, but at the same time I have that unshakable faith into them that they can handle IT.” I don’t know if she understood but I’m thinking that I can make a difference as a therapist.

Namaste!

I’m often asked “What energy healing method would be the best for me to learn?” and I’m going back in my mind to how everything started in my life.

It was end of February 1997 when I got a call in the middle of the night. Half asleep I remember the doctor of a hospital telling me that my father had an accident… a severe accident. Within seconds I was awake and knew that something terrible had happened and that I will be experiencing the first loss of a loved one in my life. The doctor told me I should come asap and hang up. I found myself screaming “No, no, no, not my dad!” It was a 90 minute drive from where I lived and I was crying all the way to my birth town. I found my dad lying in one of those cold hospital rooms with all those machines around him and a tube going into his nose. “He’s in a coma,” I was told “and he better don’t wake up again because he would be disabled and would have to learn how to eat and how to speak if he would be able to do it… His skull is broken due to a fall down the stairs hitting a stove and his brain is severly damaged.” I couldn’t listen, I was overwhelmed by sadness and pain. I couldn’t imagine living without him and I didn’t want to live myself anymore in that moment.

After his death I was told by many people to get back to normal life again because I wouldn’t be the only one who loses a parent. I tried hard to do so. Short before his death I had started to learn an instrument but after a while didn’t have too much fun with it anymore because all that note reading and counting tacts was too mathematical for me. Nevertheless I thought it would be of some distraction and went there again. My teacher was a very wise man, always grounded and calm. He welcomed me with all his warmth and immediately noticed that there’s something wrong. I told him what had happened and he said “Have you ever heard about Reiki?” and explained it in short sentences. I thought whatever it is, I want to try it. Werner turned on some relaxing music that sounded kind of Asian and let me close my eyes. It felt as if he would take my head in his hands and something strange warm and calming coming out of them. Suddenly everything around me disappeared and a movie full of emotions, thoughts, people and events run in a fast speed through my mind. Pictures I couldn’t determine appeared and disappeared and suddenly there was nothing – simply nothing. I felt empty and unbelievable calm. After a while the music came to an end and I opened my eyes. “How are you?” Werner asked me and I told him that it felt so loving, safe and calming when he held my head in his hands. “I’ve never touched you,” he said and I looked at him in disbelief. One week later I began learning Reiki Level I.

What I like about Reiki is that it’s not just a technique; this was the beginning of life changing teachings about being in the present, how thoughts are influencing emotions, how emotions are influencing behaviour and finally how to live a balanced joyful life and find your purpose.

On this continent Reiki often is a weekend course – in my country it is an apprenticeship about personal growth and learning. Werner was my master for all Reiki levels and I’m still in contact with him.

So, I’m saying “I can’t tell you what’s the best way for you to start your spiritual healing journey but for me Reiki was the right way, at that period of time to do my first energy healing steps towards the point where I am now.

And this point is not the end. I’m continuosly learning about new ideas in the field of quantum and matrix and whenever I like something I’m integrating it into my work in MY WAY.

Namaste!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppN3-W–QIw  Family/Systemic Constellation Therapy Work explained by M. M. Lux

This kind of therapy is very well-known and I would say almost famous in Germany, but when I ask people here in Manitoba about it and try to explain what’s happening they back off and ask me if it is one of my voodoo techniques again like EFT.

It is very sad for me to see day by day people suffering and being poisoned by chemical drugs they are eating like candy because “the doctor is always right”. And then they’re suffering from the side-effects and they say to me “well, what can you do?”. They’re consciously giving up their responsibilities for their physical bodies and treat them like automobiles, they would drive to a garage to get new parts. “Yes,” a farmer said to me those days “that’s exactly as we are here and we won’t change.” I was pretty shocked by his words because I’m coming from a country where people started to think different already in the 60ties because I can’t remember one pharmacy that wouldn’t offer natural remedies, mix teas and tinctures and have aromatherapeutic oils since I’ve been a child. My mother, our neighbours, my relatives they all used home remedies on their children when they got sick. I grew up with peppermint-eucalyptus creme on my chest, chamomile tea for my stomach and calf wrappings against fever. Last time I met a woman with a bad cough and said “you better gurgle and drink some sage tea.” She looked at me and repeated “sage tea? Where would I get something like that? That takes too long, I’m on my way to the pharmacy.” The body needs time to heal but I haven’t experienced that natural remedies take longer than drugs to have an effect on the body. The difference is that drugs are making the body numb and senseless for pain and so the body is not able to talk to you anymore. But people here won’t listen anyway. I’m living in a little town in rural Manitoba now for four years and almost everybody who dies here dies of Cancer.

There are psycho-emotional roots for that disease. In a Powerpoint Presentation I’m mentioning an Intuitive Medical and a Doctor from Germany who made a lot of research to find out that Cancer is caused by negative emotions, trauma and unfinished business. Family/Systemic Constellation Therapy is healing the roots of Cancer deeply and long-lasting.

You may ask if there can be so much trauma in a little rural town (population around 500) because I couldn’t believe it when I moved here. I’ve never heard about so much abuse, giving children away for adoption, abortions and addictions before in my life and I was born in a city that has around 60,000 people living there. This should not be a reproach but an appeal to reach out for help. As a people person and professional in the Counseling and Health business I’m not judging people for something they did in their past that is still influencing their present because I know sometimes in your life you don’t know better and then later you regret or hate yourself for that. But it’s hard for me to see them suffering because they’re still suppressing their traumatic experiences and linked emotions and are hating themselves. A woman asked me “there are things in my life I wouldn’t even tell to a stranger; why should I come to your place and tell you about it?” I mentioned the privacy pledge I’m doing with every client signing my consent form but it couldn’t convince her.

Karen Carnabucci and Ronald Anderson said: ” Systemic Constellation work is a new and powerful healing process based on the notion that people are connected by unseen energetic forces not only in the here and now but also across time and space.” That means we can heal a relationship to a family member even if the family member has died already through the “knowing field” of energy that connects us in a system.

Family/Systemic Constellation Therapy is about discovering HIDDEN (conflict) DYNAMICS and integrating new perspectives and solutions. It is about restoring or creating order in a system – “the order of love” through “the movements of the soul” and “acknowledging what is” (three terms used by Bert Hellinger).

It’s based on the statement that “Thoughts, feelings and perceptions that are externalized and expressed can be altered in the course of a session”.

I have recorded a little Video to tell you the story about a constellation I did for a Cancer patient who wanted to deal with some unfinished business in his family of origin. I invite you to watch it in order to see how I work. And I invite you to try it out. What can you lose? But there’s a lot to gain – like healing!
